Methods

methodsResearch shows that appropriate connectivity in networks within and between organisations has a substantial impact on performance, learning, and innovation. HyperEdge uses a package of unique highly specialised tools and techniques, which collectively we call business network analysis™ , to elicit an organisation’s capacity to engage effectively in its activities. Our methods reveal the informal and the formal networks, allowing them to be evaluated, measured, weaved, and supported.

A business network analysis™ uses data to provide leaders with empirical information on the real structure and relationships in an organisation, or the interrelationships between things like projects or policy. The data shows whether a relationship between two nodes exists, and the value of that relationship. Nodes are individuals, projects, project teams, business units, entire organisations, or even business functions, policies or documents. The data can be weighted or have attributes associated with it. The results are then displayed graphically as knowledge maps , or in more traditional tabular formats. We typically produce an organisational communication profile and a number of personal communication profiles for our clients.
